Default Travel Hula Hoop Construction ideas???

Sooooo I have this hula hooping obsession along with my light weight hiking obsession. I do however think that trail toys are worth their weight in gold, so I'm planning on bringing a hoop with me on the PCT.

Has anyone ever considered bringing one or have any ideas on how to make a super lightweight hoop? I'm thinking I could adjust the weight with either sand or water when I get to where I'd like to hoop. What I'm really looking for is a lightweight material to make the hoop itself out of. I usually use irrigation tubing PSI100 but I think it'd be overkill to thru hike with it.

I know there arent too many hula hoop people out there but it'd be so fun to spin at camp wouldnt it! On the AT I carried bubbles, slinkys, frisbies, all fun stuff but this is going to be the raddest.

In the jam band community hooping is the ****! Add some glowsticks and a hoop becomes a night time treat for an experimental mind.

Maybe you could make a tent or bivy that used the hoops for structure.

A set of Speed Stacks would be easy to carry too. Guaranteed to scar the mice away !

This is only 1/2 an idea, but I'm thinking an inflatable hoop with an "inner tube" frame. It would look like a bike wheel. In fact, maybe you could use the rim of a bike wheel, maybe a titanium one. Cut it in half or fourths, put latches on the outside, then an inflatable tube around it. That's all I've got.

    That may work.

Lot's of people in the hooping community make collapsible (travel) hoops. It's as easy as a trip to your local home improvement store!
