Wink Would I get laughed out of a shelter with this?

What do you think? I can think of a few trail names I would inherit with this outfit/bag.

HAHA yes i would laugh if i saw a person with one of these on esspecially a hiker. I can understand why it seems to be a good idea but I know I wouldnt carry one.

Almost 4 pounds for a 40 degree bag? Seems that if it's that warm, you don't need to be wearing your bag. A wearable sleeping bag would be nice if it were 20 degrees outside - but yes, you'd probably get a few giggles.

40 degree bag weighs 4.3 pounds! I wouldn't laugh because you are wearing it I would laugh because you were carrying it.

Yep, a 40 degree, ahem, bag, that weighs 4lbs is outrageous. I wasn't seriously going to buy this bag however, just wanted to give a few smiles.

I would totally buy one of these if they came in Red. If only to present it at the Billville Useless Gear Contest.

I find it hard to believe a 40 degree bag can even be made that heavy. It's a marvel of ass-backwards engineering!

The Exped Wallcreeper is a bit more of a functional, reasonable version of this --- just under 2 pounds in size medium for a 38 degree rated ~bag.
If anyone is seriously interested in this approach, there are three reviews of it on backpackgeartest.org.

well that depends on whether or not you give a shizznit what anybody else thinks. personally, i would laugh you off the mountain for staying in a piss box but i think the suit is pretty cool if it's warm and light. i'm not gonna read the junk that comes with your pic. plus the suit is dayglo yellow and can be seen for long distances. maybe that in georgia is not a good idea.

That's awesome! It makes you look like you're a three year old wearing his dad's vest!

Let me ask you, are you thru-hiking or going camping? This suit sort of makes sense for one, and not at all for the other.

I guess some other (also actually practical ...) thing this brings vaguely to mind are the JRB wearable quilts, and the nunatak raku, and of course there are various "half bag" options and other things designed to combine with clothing to make a sleep system.

Sorry, if this is strictly a humor thread perhaps I shouldn't derail it by introducing actual gear ... :-)

How can you scratch what itches?
