    Unhappy Father of the AZ Trail Dies

    Dale Shewalter, founder of the AZ Trail, died last week. He left a great legacy. His works will undoubtedly lead others to follow in his footsteps.

    Thats very sad for the hiking community and even more so for his family.

    I hiked many of the trails in Arizona in the 70's. I can only hope that on one of those walks I met him on a trail and said Hello.

    SERVICES FOR DALE SHEWALTER SUNDAY JANUARY 31 IN FLAGSTAFF , AZ.
    The Shewalter Family has announced that a memorial service for Dale will be held Sunday January 31, 11:00 AM at Flagstaff, NAU - North Campus, Old Main Building 11, Ashurst Auditorium (Corner of Knoles and Tormey). Following the service at approximately noon, a military honor ceremony will be conducted. Following that ceremony a reception will be held.
