Mt. Katahdin would be a lot quicker to climb if its darn access trail didn't start all the way down in Georgia.

Whatever you do, don't name her Katahdin or Springer or Kaya.

My favorite dog name of all time belonged to a dog owned by one of my aunts in Ireland, who also had a cat.

The dog's name was "Deefer." When people would ask her why she named the dog that, she would reply "D for Dog." (And that's actually how the dog was usually called -- "C'mere, Deefer Dog!")

When asked what her cat's name was, her reply was "Seefer."

So my vote is for "Deefer."

How about "Pamola" after Katahdin's subsiday peak?!
According to the Abenaki Indians, Pamola was a bird-spirit who lived on Katahdin. It was considered a thunder god and protector spirit. Despite the avian characteristics, it kinda sounds like a dog to me!

She looks like a killer, though. You'd better warn the mail man...

My two yellow labs growing up were Crockett and Boone. The ones I have now are Samson and Jonah.

We went through the same thing when naming my little, not so little anymore, guy we kept trying different name son him for about a week but he just seemed like a Hank. He is part border collie and so Hank the cow dog fit. Get a few and try them out. I guess you could always just call her Blaze.

My vote is for "Moxie". Meaning daring, or courage and is also a lake in Maine and a mountain and a soft drink.

I like Moxie for a name. Also the name of a thru-hiker from 2000 who has since passed away.

Looks like a black lab. You'll have your hands full in no time, ha ha. Sweet though

No name comes to mind. I do like Libby though.
