    Default replacing my tent poles, please

    Can someone please tell me how i can jerry rig up anything for replacing my sierria designs lighting tent poles (5/16"), to something thin, light and not as strong ? It is so hard to find a light weight , side door, 2 person , free standing tent. thank you.

    A couple of suggestions.
    Have a look at the Fibraplex poles. (Carbon Fiber)
    You probably will save 7-8 oz for about $170-200

    Mixed reviews about them, but as the radius of the XT2 does not seem to be too tight, they might work

    Since you mention "rigging something up" , if you use trekking poles , you could look at the Tarptent Double Rainbow 2010.
    About 2 1/2 lbs with pole and 6 stakes.

    If condensation is a problem where you are, you could get the optional "liner" and clip that up before you go to sleep. (4 oz)
    However if you have not had drips from the fly through the mesh on the XT2, I would not bother with the liner.
