Please further define "creepy dude" and I'll make sure I'm not one...

Best of luck on your adventure, creepy dudes or not!

I am a good guy as my record will prove ... 23 arrests and NO convictions!
I'm not really a hiker, I just play one on White Blaze.

dont worry too much about trying to find a hiking partner before you get out there. There will be a ton of folks out there in early April. Some days there are as many as 100 hikers a day leaving from the Springer area. Just be observant and you will find folks that have similar interests, hiking patterns, and that you enjoy hanging around with. By the time you get out of Georgia, you will probably already have a small group of hikers that you are traveling with, whether you start solo or with a hiking partner. Go out and have fun.

    See you along the trail.

What's the name & number of your defense atty, sounds like you got a good one?

Coastie - you still haven't defined creepy. Lots of guys need to know if they are okay or not.

Mt. Katahdin would be a lot quicker to climb if its darn access trail didn't start all the way down in Georgia.

From a former Coastie to a potential Coastie be "Semper Paratus" on the trail and you'll be fine.

I'd offer as a 22yr old Marine, but my fiance would have my head if I was hiking with a female, lol. And I'm a month ahead of ya, good luck!

If you need the definition of creepy... you're probably a creeper

    And yes, Semper Paratus!

Me and you would qualify as creepy as I am old enough to be your dad. Plus my wife and kids wouldn't approve.

But you are still being elusive about your qualifications.

Ah, Coast Guard. The name makes sense now. If you can put up with this crew, you'll do fine on the trail. There will be plenty of others (females included) looking to partner with someone, at least for the first stretch. You'll find someone with a compatible hiking style when you get out there. Good luck and enjoy the hike!

Does the Coast Guard still have the 6'4" requirement, so the guys can walk ashore if the boat sinks? JK I prefer the saying Semper Fi!

Heck, I'd join the CG if they'd let me fish while we were out. Don't think that will ever happen!

Seriously though, best of luck to you though. Hope you nail down OCS and complete the trail too.

Best of luck to you. Listen to the career petty officers and you will be an asset.

Well here is one definition of Creepy Hiker Dude....

Dogs are excellent judges of character, this fact goes a long way toward explaining why some people don't like being around them.
