    can u send fuel canisters trough the mail??

    Mark package w/ "ORM-D".
    Will only go via surface mail.

    In theory, yes, you can mail a canister. In practice, it depends on the mail clerk. I've had mixed success -- most of the time it was fine, but a couple of clerks told me it was illegal and that was that.

    Given the penalties for hazardous materials in the mail, I certainly wouldn't just put it in the box and not say anything.

    I mailed several canisters via surface mail and had no issue whatsoever. And all made it just fine.

    yep...the postal worker may or not know what you are talking about, but they have ORM-D stickers...maybe. they have xeroxed them for me in the past when they only had one, or a sample, on hand. the limit is one liter per package.
