Cotton is not the fabric of your life. ...

You assess random buildings for their pitch and most efficient route of ascent. ...

30 mph in a car suddenly feels acceptably fast ("I can get home by dark at this pace"). ...
    The more miles, the merrier!

When you get back from your thru, 1st thing you do is switchback the driveway.Your bathroom door has a blue blaze on it. You have a car-but you hitchhike to the grocery store and when you get back you hang it from the ceiling. You have to be reminded more than twice where to pee.You still wear something from your hike every day-even if it's been 5 years. How do you know you have invited a past thru hiker to dinner? No worries-they will tell you.

I still carry my headlamp in my cargo pocket. It has come in handy quite a few times.

...you are now walking to work because the repair estimate for your car was almost 200.00. But just last week you spent 300.00 on a Gossamer Gear tent for next year's thru & think it was a deal.

You refer to the place you sleep as a "shelter," and you're not homeless, honestly you're not ! ...

More often that you care to admit, you awaken in a cold sweat from a nightmare involving mice and mosquitoes. ...
