    Default Waynesboro to Luray

Looking to hiking from Rockfish Gap to Thorton Gap March27th to April 4th. What options in parking or shuttles is at either end? What are the trail conditions now. What temps can I exspect to see at night? Any information on this section would be helpful. I did Thorton Gap to Harpers Ferry last year during easter week. I enjoyed that section. I have two others hiking with me and the temps and conditions may make or break the hike. Thank you in advance.

PM Skyline for shuttles, he's based in Luray.

Snow level should hopefully be down by then. Still a bunch right now but we are having warmer temps

The facilities schedules for SNP are here.

You should prepare for cold nights i.e. in the 20s, probably not the teens. It's possible you could have warmer nights even to the high 30s but you should prepare for colder temps. My only overnight in SNP around your timeframe was years ago and I had a pretty cold night and that was at the lower elevations - down in White Oak Canyon near the base of Old Rag. You'll be 1,000' higher.

Re. trail conditions, the PATC work crews are pretty efficient. Just received my March newsletter with their schedules - they're out in March!

20 degree nights we can deal with, we all have 20 degree bags. How much snow is on the trail now, inches/feet? I have always done my spring hike in April, but with Easter break so early this year I have to hike in the colder temps. Maybe I should just suck it up and go. My hiking buddies can always get off if it is to cold!!!

Big J I just responded to your PM. Almost never check that feature in WB.
