A few friends and I are starting from ME at the end of August, possibly the beginning of September.

good to hear from you...i am most likely starting in June...YES, i am excited! a little bit nervous, but ready!...this will be my first thru-hike so i am trying to gather as much info as possible.....it's a bit more difficult to gather info on the SOBO trip...keep in touch..

I'm going Sobo! Driving up (well, a friend is driving me) to Katahdin mid-June and starting the trek back. I live in Baltimore, so, I figure once I hit Harpers Ferry, I'll chill at home for a week, resupply with cold weather gear, and then head back out. I can't wait! I'm really hoping to meet other SOBO hikers!

Looks like my husband has more leave saved up than we thought! We say goodbye to the Army on June 24th!! We'll never be able to sit still for 3 weeks so we'll probably pay the fee to change our plane tickets to an earlier date. New possible start date: somewhere between June 30 and July 2.

I am heading up Katahdin on July 2. Can't wait, counting down the days.......

We're starting July 1 (have a site reserved at KS already). We plan to go slow as my hubby is a big guy. But I'm doing VA now so I can get back in time for hubby's birthday in mid Nov. Hellbender, come start July 1 or a day later (or I will NEVER see you for sure as you go sailing by, ha ha)!!

I'm all about starting as early as possible. Either way, I have a feeling we'll run into you and the Skipper at some point. The trail is just that way. And with you already getting VA out of the way, maybe we will see you in the south as well. Seeing you without PB won't seem right!! Does he have any plans to join you for a section?

No he flew the coop in Sept. We don't see or talk to him much. Testing his wings, I guess.

30 DAYS till the adventure begins. I already have everything reserved and everything purchased, its all sitting in a corner in my apartment, lol. I'm stoked.

Congrats Sniddle!!! Same deal here, all our gear is in the corner waiting on us. 7 weeks to go! Maybe I'll tell my boss today.... I work in big box outdoor store selling camping/hiking gear (dont hate me... I just needed a job for a few months) and when it gets slow, I stand around looking at gear and daydreaming about this hike!! Its about time I came clean.
