    Default Thur Hiker In March

I'm a 23 year old male from Maine recently graduated from college with a degree in English. Now I'm questioning myself what to do next? October meant the end of white water guiding in Maine so I've moved home to substitute teach trying to make ends meet until March when I can finally fly down to Georgia and begin the long arduous journey. I've always wanted to hike the appalachian trail and I might as well do it while I can. My knickname on the college rugby team was Badger hence the trail name. I realize it is nearly impossible to hike at the same pace for months but I know I will be seeing a lot of you out there. I would be delighted to have a conversation with anyone who is going to be doing a thru hike in or around this time frame.

I'm leaving in mid March. I should be at the Approach Trail on the 14th.

It has been a goal for two years to walk the trail. Now that I am out of college, it will be a reality. I hope to see you all out there!

Default anybody starting in GA mid March?

50 year old guy that has been very sick, refused physicians directive to die peacefully, has been an athlete in the past wants to start slow and see where the trail leads. Probabbly at least to the Hot springs in Madison county, NC thru GSP.. Tough old bird...but very in love with nature and people. See ya, time to eat protein and lift weights.

The 2011 A.T. Thru-Hikers' Companion is now available!

It has current information on mileage, services, shelters, regulations, Leave No Trace, and a lot of other stuff important for thru-hikers and section-hikers alike. Information is collected by volunteers; proceeds benefit the A.T. ATC members receive at 20% discount. It's available on-line at www.atctrailstore.org, at ATC's Harpers Ferry visitor center, and by calling 1-888-AT-STORE M-F 9-4:30.

    Default Please Hike With Me

    Hi Everyone!

God's willing, I will start hiking the AT in mid April. My expected pace is slow, but God's willing I will reach main before October 1st. I am a female in her forties fulfilling a dream. I would love someone or a group to hike with me or I with them for friendship, safety reasons and for fun and laughter. Oh, and to also hold my camera and take pictures of me - LoL! Please let me know if you are interested. You can even email me at: [email protected].

Hope to hear from some of you soon!

I really love your spirit! God put doctors here for us, but they do not have the last say-God does! I would love to walk with you, but I'll be in class-I cant leave until mid April. I just wanted to wish you all the best. I hope that you meet fun, loving people to hike with you. I sure wish I can being that I am in my forties and want to start out slow too. But, maybe I'll get a chance to meet my encourager-and you are an encourager!

    God Bless,
    RT

Very anxious to get started. Hopeing the body will go the distance.
HI Gramps! I'm sure your body will go the distance. Okay, I'm not sure, but I believe it will! I am a female, and I am in my forties. I am in school right now but classes will end in April. I want to leave around that time also. My expected pace is slow, but I want to make it to Main before the deadline on the 15th of October, which I think we can make way before then. If you think that I'll be a good match for you, please let me know. You can also email me at [email protected]

Hope to hear from you soon!
