Well, I was supposed to go NOBO this past spring, but due to the death of my grandmother in Jan. 2010, I didn't go. I stayed around to help my grandfather.

I'm fired up once again to get on the trail and may have to change my trail name to Jack Frost as I am going to hit the trail as soon as I complete my taxes..so late January early February look out! I'm going to try and get ahead of the stampede that starts in March..so you guys coming after me, please keep a lookout for unusual looking icicles! It may be me! lol

I've been doing shakedown hikes on the Pinhoti checking my winter gear out. Spent the weekend out on John's Mountain recently and it got down to 17 and felt pretty toasty without my parka and winter pants on in my hammock even with a good frosty wind blowing. I'm certain I can handle minimal subzero conditions with no problem, but up around Clingman's Dome, I suspect I'll have to sleep with all of it on.

Getting out of school in march and realized why the hell not hike the AT this year. I've got no major obligations in the near future so I know I will regret it if I dont take this oppurtunity. Hiking it solo so gladly send me a friend request or message as it would be great to get to know some of you beforehand.
