Heard from a hiker at Neel gap today that Jack had passed away......its not true is it? If so, a trail legend had left us. We should all pay homage.....

Good Lord, the things one sees when you've been away.
Hiked South this morning back to Neel Gap, worked at the store for a few hours, then caught a ride here to Franklin. Beautiful evening, all sorts of people here, with more arriving tomorrow.
Am enjoying the day immensely and am in no way dead, sorry to disappoint anyone. The real festivities start tomorrow, hope to see some of you here, certainly planning to stay above ground thru the weekend.
