    nice pic, but comments on link from green zealots are ridiculous
    The trail was here before we arrived, and it will still be here when we are gone...enjoy it now, and preserve it for others that come after us

    Great picture!
    The green zealots are mostly quoting the Green Mountain Club and the state of Vermont policies on trail use during mud season. The GMC built and maintains the LT. A lot of trail damage is done by hiking in mud season. Though, I don't know if mud season is in full force there yet, probably not at the higher elevations.

    I have hiked numerous sections already this season. While not as bad as past years the mud is there as well as blowdowns. Tread lightly on our trail for now. It will dry out.
