    Default MAnchester, Vt to Williamstown,MA

Im going up the AT/LT on Tuesday. Any info on how to get from Manchester back to Williamstown (besides hitching) would be greatly appreciated.

Check out Vermonttransit.com The bus should be pretty quick and cheap.

    Default ATC Shuttle List Providers

Try contacting one of the shuttle list providers found on the ATC site:

Looks like there's someone in North Adams that does shuttles up to Manchester.

Oh my goodness! If I take greyhound I need to go through Albany and it will take 12 hours. I think I'll hitch.

As far as I can tell, between Vt Transit, Bonanza, and Greyhound, there ain't no way you kin git thar from here. Vt doesn't talk to Mass it seems. I'm going to assume someone will take pity on a poor ol hiker.

    Default transfer...

I know this is too late to help you, but here's my 2 cents...

Up till last year, you could have taken Vermont Transit to Bennington, then switched to a Bonanza bus which would have run thru Williamstown on its Bennington-NYC line. But as far as I can make out, Bonanza has changed this line so it terminates in Williamstown, and doesn't take Rte. 7 thru CT anymore...

This is a shame, since I was able to use this line for runs up to CT from NYC for weekend and section-hikes, as Rte. 7 never strayed more than a mile or 2 from the AT in Connecticut.

    Default Berkshire Bus Lines

Take any regular carrier to pittsfield then jump onto the berkshire bus line. 3 busses goto north adams and one bus goes from north adams to williamstown.

    Default A timely response?

Flash forward 6+ years, and here's the situation. There's a bus from Manchester to Bennington, $2, 7 days a week, and a bus from Bngtn to Williamstown, $1, M-F only.
I wasted a lot of time surfing for Bonanza and Peter Pan. I couldn't find anything helpful from them. Then I somehow came across Green Mountain Community Network. Here's their schedule.

Just making this thread relevant to today...
