    Default 100-mile wilderness

Hello all, I am looking for info regarding places in the 100 mile wilderness were there is exposure if any, to cliffs. say on barren or white cap mountain?

There are no 'above the tree-line' mountains per se . . . in the 100 mile. . . but there are plenty of open bald ledges, about everyday that will give you wide open vistas and great views across Maine. . .

Barren Mountain has the Barren Ledges, Chairback has a relatively open ridgeline and Whitecap has open bald areas on the way up and down. . . .

Nesuntabunt also has a nice little clearing with a view of Lake Namankhata. . .

Whitecap Mt has a near bald summit except for a grove of trees to the north side of the peak. There are great views of Katahdin and looking down on some of the summits south of the peak on Whitecap such as Saddleback and Big Shanty.

The view of Katahdin from Whitecap is great.
