Funny that the drunk guy posted a response.
I'm not really a hiker, I just play one on White Blaze.

    That's me.

Sidenote: went TDY to Norway in Jan. Norwegians told me of a mountain with a weather station on top that was good to climb, as it had a two track up the side. I was good: had the clothing and a small backpack. I started about 3:30 P.M. The road had about 3 inches of frozen snow on it. By 5:00, it was getting dark and I was tired and only about half way up. I stopped on a guardrail to check out the scenery and heard a "crunch-crunch-crunch" coming up the road. I look back and an old <OLD! 847 years at LEAST!> guy coming up the road, stepping as regular as a metronome. He saw me, asked me something and when I said I only spoke English, he stated: "Ah, American! You go to top?" What could I do, but follow him up. He beat me to the top by at least half an hour. I wandered around the top, took some great pictures of the surrounding country by full moon and started back. I saw the guy's tracks and realized: HE WAS RUNNING BACK DOWN THE MOUNTAIN! I wanna know where HE is in the list and I hope someday I'll be like him!
