    Really? The guy hiked to the top of Katahdin long before people did it for personal reasons. Also, the AT was was orginally created to escape American urbanization and industrialization, certainly some of the reasons why good old HDT went hiking as well. I also enjoy your post LW, but on this one, I gotta disagree with you.
