Default Help with a Proton pro!!!

I just purchased one based on the rave reviews on this site...When I turn it on, it goes off after a few seconds. The instructions say if this happens, hold the button down until the light goes off to get it out of purchase mode. But, I hold it down and it dims...do I have a lemon or just clueless.

I am trying to get the light to stay on!!

If anyone can shed some light, I would appreciate it.

Okay this isn't what you want to hear, but return it and get a headlamp so your both hands will be free to hike, cook, read, eat, get water, wipe your @55, etc. in the dark.

I don't know about the Proton Pro. All my experience is with the Photon Freedom, which may or may not be similar. All I know is that I've never had any problems with the Freedom like you describe. Sorry.

In your shoes, I'd take it back and try another one.

With lots of functions comes extra complexity. You could hand it to someone else and see if they can simply turn it on/off. ~ If you need a simple backup light, the Pak-Lite Basic has a 3-position switch low-off-high. http://www.9voltlight.com/inc/sdetail/61 ~ If you wanted the red and white light option, they have a model for pilots. http://www.9voltlight.com/inc/sdetail/5980
