Is Rivers and Trails Hostel open this year?

I am sectioning Maine next week, and wondered if the hostel run by the former Kennebec ferryman is open, or do I need to go into Caratunk for resupply/stay? After crossing the river heading northbound on the AT, the town is to the east, is the hostel that direction or to the west? Are they both on Rt 201?

Most NOBO hikers at Caratunk go left 2 miles (hitch) to Northern Outdoors. They have restaurant, hot tub, microbrewery....all for the rafters (and hikers). You can get a room or a tent on a platform.

Man I have great time at N.O.

No place to stay or resupply in Caratunk anymore.

Can still do a drop.

We did a drop at the Caratunk PO (friendly post office) and stayed at the Sterling Inn. Wallace ( a really nice man) shuttled us to Northern resort for a meal and laundry and a small general store up the road for a minor resupply.
