I thought the Colorado Trail is abbreviated CT.
and the International Appalachian Trail.... is the mileage of the AT not included in the mileage? or is it just the additional mileage other than the AT?

thanks for all the info though, great list.

Yeah, the IAT mileage seems off and the CT- Colorado Trail is like 478 and the CDT will never be 3100m .... most do less than 2500 and the most I believe possible is closer to 2900....tops

For what it's worth, Nean, the listed mileage for both the (present) A.T. and the Long Trail are also incorrect, at least according to the official websites for both Trails.

Let's see, that's 58,813 miles covered by these trails. At 20 mpd on average, that equates to 8 solid years of walking!

All corrections are welcome! Most of the mileage numbers come from their websites. Doesn't mean they are right, just that there was some basis for most of the numbers.
    ~
ITA - "The IAT is a 3,000 km (about 1864 miles) hiking trail route stretching from Mount Katahdin, Maine, through New Brunswick to the Gaspé region of Québec, then to Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia and the west coast of the Island of Newfoundland and Labrador.
    - Some have combined the Florida Trail, AT & ITA for a 10 Million Steps hike.
    ~
I'll edit the Colorado Trail .. switching to CT
    - "The Colorado Trail is Colorado’s premier long distance trail. Stretching almost 500 miles from Denver to Durango, it travels through the spectacular Colorado Rocky Mountains amongst peaks with lakes, creeks and diverse ecosystems."
    ~
    CDT 3100 miles
    - "Learn more about the “King of Trails” spanning 3,100 miles along the backbone of America." - "With a 3,100-mile trail, there are unlimited ways to get involved! 2010 volunteer projects will be announced in February 2010."
    - Any CDT hikers have a better number?
    ~
Wonderland Trail link will be changed.

    Freakin' long walk....

(Which is my smart ass way of saying, I have no idea..and I walked the bloody thing! )

Mileage on all but a few trails is suspect. With reroutes due to trail maintenance or closures, alternate routes, side trails (from/to campsites....or getting misplaced like on the CDT!), etc. etc. etc.

Better to round it off. Just as accurate/inaccurate as the 'official' figures...

FWIW, I stopped counting overall mileage and just go with a rough figure for the "in between resupply" purposes.
