    Default ALPS Mountainerring Packs

Looked into a couple of their packs and was wanting to know if anyone here has used their packs. The Cascade and Denali were the 2 I was looking at..Anyone have experiance with these packs??

I had a Redtail, and still have one of their daypacks. Solid construction, very comfy, at least for me. Daypack gets a lot of use and has held up very well. I only sold the Redtail because I had too many packs, and it was more pack than I needed.

Thanks. I did look at the Redtail on the website..REI sells the Mojave whcih isnt on the site. By the looks of it, the Mojave looks like an REI special run from ALPS.. Looks exactly like the Redtail with same features..

There is a big sale on the ALPS right now and Im considering purchasing one as a second pack..

Steep and Cheap lists the Alps packs quite frequently.

    Found it: www.steepandcheap.com

Looks like they only have one deal at a time, but looking at the banner, they have a pretty good set of companies..If you watch it enough, you might find a good deal.

I saw an Alps on geartrade for ridiculously cheap. I think it was a clearance type sale probably from backcountry/steepandcheap.

The ALPS Mountaineering packs are all very nice. They are very adjustable and well build. Not the lightest, but build with heavy duty fabric and zippers.

know anyone in scouting? They sell all their equipment direct to scouters at 45% off at scoutdirect.com Couple times a year they have a big sale that ends up being about 60% off retail. Should be coming up pretty soon.

Good stuff, just way, way heavy.

Hey!! Yes, they are a little on the heavy side. My figure is to use it for Winter hiking then drop down to my Deuter 65+ in the Spring/Summer.. I need something to carry lash points for Snow shoes..

I ordered the Cascade at $85 on the REI sale..Hope to be here this week.

I'm considering buying the Cascade for a thru-hike. Let me know what you think about it please.

I have the red tail, about 5 in our scout troop, others have the Denali. Good packs, huge, heavy, but durable and comfortable, and way economical with scout discount. Lots of lashing points. Don't use the lid on them, leave it at home, save some weight. Thumbs up if you like the above attributes.

I bought the Denali last year and used it for a week, comfortable, adjusts well, slightly heavy, good zippers, waist belt strap kept slipping but I just tied it off.
I was happy with the pack and the price, ebay for $70.00.
