Transportation from Fontana Dam to Franklin, NC

Go to www.thecabininthewoods.com and talk to Phil Capper - his cabins / hostel are up the hill from the dam. You could stay there for a night at hike's end - then have him shuttle you to Franklin next day. Tell him "Bob in Atlanta" referred you!

I would suggest using Ron Haven. If you plan on staying in Franklin the night before you hike anyway then it gives you the perfect opportunity to move your vehicle up to Fontana and leave it there. Then hike N. from Franklin back to you vehicle. It would save you from having to wait on a shuttle after your hike is finished. Just hit the showers, change into some clean clothes and get ready for your drive back home.
