I take a pair of cheap gardening gloves that are "tacky" on the palms and finger portions. They provide enough warmth down to around 32 or so and allow me to keep a good grip on the poles when it rains.

Pain is a by-product of a good time.
i have a few pairs of Oakley SI Assault gloves that i got from a friend of mine who's in the USMC and gets them really cheap. for shooting they're [obviously] incredible, but i've found that they're some of the best all around gloves on the market. while collecting and batoning firewood they're better than all Mechanix or similar gloves i've used. there's no slipping inside the gloves that usually happens with the cheaper gloves and leads to blisters and soreness.
