    Default Upcoming Hike

So far I have section hiked from Springer to Hot Springs, NC. I am about to have 7 days off of work and wanted to hike probably 4-7 days leaving from Hot Springs, NC and traveling North. I am bored at work and haven't looked at my maps yet and just wanted to get people's opinions on where a convenient place to stop would be. I would say 10-12 miles a day and I would be leaving my car at the start and having my girlfriend meet me at the end to give me a ride back to my car. Thanks in advance for all the advice.

That is easy. If you want to hike north from Hot Springs, your schedule and mileage will put you right around Erwin.

If you don't have a guide book handy, ALDHA has an online version of their Thru-Hikers' Companion available: http://www.aldha.org/comp_pdf.htm

I really enjoyed the Roan to Damascus stretch, 70 miles total and the Roan highlands are amazing
