Is Trashgiving a music festival or something?
Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, and as vital to our lives as water and good bread.

Trashgiving is a weekend long hiker get-together that we've done in VT or NH for the better part of a decade depending on who is insane enough to offer us their house. Basically, we re-create the Thanksgiving holiday but spend it with friends instead of family. People that wanna hike, hike. People that wanna help cook do that. People that wanna just hang out do that. Every year we get some new people, i.e prospective hikers, etc. Anyone is welcome, tho we kinda balk at drummers or contra dancers. We are tentatively, repeat tentatively planning this for the weekend of 3-5 December in Glencliff NH, with most stuff happening on Saturday the 4th. Details to follow as soon as we know them.

If anyone is going near Roanoke, VA, I need a ride.

I hope Ron has a great party and I'm sorry I won't be there. I don't really see a conflict with 2 events on the same day, i.e. I doubt he'd have too many attendees from south of PA in any case, and as much as I'd like to see them, we don't get too many people coming to New Hampshire from south of Nothern VA, it's really a long way to drive. What we need is some kind of annual thing sort of centrally located so EVERYONE can attend, or at least everyone would have the same ammount of driving to look at. In any case, it's great that there are different events to choose from, especially if they happen to be taking close nearby to where you live. Hope to see some of you guys up here if you can make it.

mensa keeps sending me emails and mail cause i took the home test and aced it. but the benifits of membership include fun get togethers with members of simular interests. yuckk.i have a raw score of 72. they estimate i have intelegence but only confirm it if you take the supervised test. the question i got wrong was:

all automobiles are driven by human beings. theirfor,.:
    A) all human beings drive automobiles
    B) no driver is exempt from accedents
    C) all human beings are unpredictable
    D) all drivers have accedents.

and i neglected to notice it was in the launguiage section witch made the answer. B.exempt was the key.

and my father was in intellegence in korea. and my brother has been called a modest genius in the papers, hes famouse. and i am as smart as you i just dont smell.

No MENSA get together would be as cool as this, anyway.

    Meatheads Ending Nessisary Sillyness Allover.

weird matthewski fun things to do at trashgiveing:

unplug panzers tent early before dawn.
play food chess all night with tank and the dude.
watch people go up moosalacki without mittens and come down froze.
go to my secret telephone pole where theirs enough reception to get messeges only.
bring a 5lb block of scrapple and see who pukes.
clean tank and dudes cars out of weirdo trash.
wait for folks to worry if anything should go in the fridge. and laugh.
pretend sleep and watch while folks try to use saran wrap to cover food at 5 below.
make all the blankets in the hostel into a burrito and get in.
    study jesters every move.
    study tank.
    annoy dude.

and the number one weird matthewski fun thing to do at trashgiveing is:
wait in the road for people lost and searching for the hostel.
