Shipping Canister Stove (no canister)

I'm over i korea and will need to have my folks mail my used canister stove. Is there anything that they can do to it before packing that might remove any of the chemical residue? It has to go airmail.

the same stove at an outfitter here is more than $120.00.

What is it a pocket rocket? Because I just flew mine in its red plastic container - I didn't remove any residue from it. No problem.
