Default It snowed in Jacksonville, FL

Sitting in line at Starbucks got snow all over my truck melted quickly of course. Suppose to be in the 20's tonight and very thankful the game was sold out and I am forced to watch the Jaguars on TV.

If we get anything significant the entire city will shut down we don't know what to do with snow. We are not snowbirds.

I may need to move farther south.

Have a great game day. Go Jags.

I can confirm snowfall in Jax as well. I live on the southside and it snowed around 10am while I was out driving to breakfast. It didn't stick to the ground and quickly melted, but it was very easy to see hitting my windshield.

That's just not fair. I had people tell me it was snowing around 10 and 3 yesterday, downtown and then in Mayport, and I was stuck inside both times... It's not like I miss plows and scraping ice off my car, but I'd still like to see a little snow again. I'm even tempted to do the tourist thing and go play in Geogria's snow.

I'm keeping my eye on the wetather tonight and tomorrow.

I am working as a volunteer at the tailgate party on Saturday at the Gatorbowl. I spent the day yesterday with the Mississippi State players by volunteering to help at their beach party. What a nice group of kids. I got to spend some time talking with Coach Mullen we miss him at Florida.

Although I bleed orange and blue and am a die hard Gator fan I do love the SEC which I think is the only true conference. LOL....

Hope you enjoy our town and the game.

Substitute Orange for Blue and Vol for Gator and I agree with this statement

Thanks guys! I think Black Creek Ravines sounds good. May try Bayard Conservation area, for plan B. I resolve to hike to Little Talbot soon. Gotta start the new year hiking!

Just did Bayard last week. A good portion of the trail has horrible. Fallen trees everywhere. Not maintained very well. Camped on the river. Very nice big open campsite. Was an enjoyable trip but better maintenance needs to be done. Black Creek has some nice elevation changes, a nice campsite and good change of scenery between hikes.

I guess moving to FL to get outa the snow is a no go .

We have actually gotten pretty lucky here in WV. We have had pretty steady snowfall and way below normal temps the whole month of December, but not too bad. The actual storms pretty much went south and then up the coast; our snow was mostly from the counterclock wise flow pulling moisture from the ocean and the Great Lakes. I think the most we had were I live (only 2500 feet) was about 13 inches in early Dec. then it was mostly just what we called the daily 3 (3 or more inches each day). Some parts of the state to the south east have gotten a good bit more though. Today though was a good day to go hiking; darn near 60 degrees in the lower elevation areas and in the low 50's at my place. Nice day! Less than 3 months to spring!!!

Flurries in JAX. Drizzle on Mount Washington.

That's right, as I type this it is 36*F on the summit of Washington. A few days ago, the Obs lost its wind instruments to icing. Tonight, it's above freezing. We're getting light rain in the valley. Strange weather.
