I just went back and reread the thread about my feet situation...wow. No serious foot problems in 09. I had an awesome pair of custom insoles that lasted until Glencliff but by then my feet were solid callouses.

Just got done looking at all the pics.

Your journal is one I tried to keep up with last year, I am going to go back and read it all again, because for some reason I didn't finish it.

    thanks for the post

After viewing ALL of your pics I must now read your journal. Your photos captured so much fun, good times and good fellowship that I must now follow your journey. Congratulations on your accomplishment and your inspiration.

Wonderful! Did you follow all of the divas? Try to ignore all the typos..it's kinda hard to type on a peek after hiking all day. The letters start to run together.

You're welcome. Wow. You got through all of them in one day?! Enjoy the read. I also recommend reading Loon's, Rocket's, and Storm's TJs.

Yes ALL in one day. Have been under the weather and I spent the recovery time viewing each state, taking a soup break and then on to the next state. I am now up to Gatlinberg on your TJ. I will move on to Loon's, Rocket's, and Storm's next. At my age this may be as close as I ever get to doing a thru, reading about it, and thanks for a great red.

This photo/journal undertaking was for my grandfather and father. Sadly, my grandfather passed away during my hike after I just entered VT. The journal/photos plus the short video brought tears to my father's eyes.

My father inspired me! It was a dream of his to complete the trail. He had me on his back backpacking before I could walk. I kept a picture of him in the GSMNP when he was my age throughout the whole entire hike. It was like he was hiking it with me.

I decided to share with the WB community too as I gained a lot of information and support from this site before, during, and after the hike. I'm glad you are enjoying them and the rest of the divas as well.

I've received a few questions on what camera I used through the hike. I used two since one died in a hail storm in CT but they were both Sony Cybershot:

This sounds very good indeed. Looking forward to take part of the news in the upcoming release.

Yo, Grommet. Was trolling through the class of 2009 stuff and found your pics. Great stuff.

BTW If you're still hot to go to APHC you better hurry. GK announced he's retiring from the show in 2013...maybe.
