    Default AYCE near Macafee Knob

I ran into a thru hiker during a section hike who was telling me about a great AYCE place near Macafee Knob. Anyone have a clue what restaurant this may be? I'm looking to a short weekend hike in that area in a few weeks.

Lone Wolf is correct; they're almost certainly talking about the Homeplace, in Catawba. Just make sure you plan to be there on the right day of the week as they're not open every day.

Looking to do about 30 mile weekend hike that would either end or begin near here and include McAfee Knob, any suggestions?

disrespect any AYCE buffet to a hiker but mentioning the homeplace in the same breath as a Shoney's seems almost sacreligous to me! The Homeplace and the awesome Chinese buffet in Waynesville were two of the best meals I had on the entire trail.

Boy I'd have to agree. Shoneys kind of stinks, unless its the only one around. At Daleville I'd rather eat at Country Cookin but its a pain to get to

Parking is at Catawba trailhead, btw Dragons Tooth and McAfee Knob
