Default Favorite place on AT for hamburgers and beer

What is your favorite place on the AT for a good hamburger and beer, or a pub to cool off from the summer heat?

On my list, Dot's Inn in Damascus VA; the Doyle Hotel in Duncannon PA; and when it re-opens (which will be by next hiking season) Five-Olde Nugget Alley in Hanover NH. There are, of course, others, but these will always be my top three.

Does stopping off at your house that's just off the trail count?

I would also add the Port Clinton Hotel. Burgers are decent quality with an array of choices and the portions of fries are very thruhiker-friendly! I think they have Yuengling on tap.

in an all out thrmo burgular nuckler war, only dots and doyals would remain. forever birthing clone burgers after the real ones died out, in their underground burger protected citys. after many ketchup droughts and loss of fri teams, emmisarys would be sent to the surface to trade for new burger cloneing material. lwolf and i would meet at jesters house where the only functioning kitchen still existed, and there, under a flag of truce, pat would splice the dna from mine and lwolfs burger samples ushering in a new age of burger. to be called after the greatest trail burger that ever was,,.....the elms dinner burger. or elohim for short since it was gods name and this new burger would become like a god.

Rivers End Restaurant at NOC in the Nantahala Gorge. Get the "Hungry Hiker" hamburger with a beer, have a seat and enjoy the river! My favorite stop on the AT.

The Doyle has a great burger and fries - maybe the best I've had.

The best *sandwich* I've had was in West Cornwall, CT at the country store about a half mile from the trail.
