2011 Sheltowee Trace Trailcheck

The Sheltowee Trace Association needs volunteers to check the Trace on April 9- 10. Trailcheck 2011 is designed to get hikers, bikers, horseback riders out on the Trace during this weekend to walk specific segments of the Trace and submit "observation reports" to the STA. The reports will be prioritized and the STA and Forest Service will then plan our spring maintenance schedule.

If you can't walk or ride the Trace, maybe you can volunteer to shuttle others from trailhead to trailhead.

I walked the section from Southern Terminus trailhead parking to the junction of the JMT the last weekend in January. Trail was in pretty good shape. I removed a few smaller limb debris, but there were no major obstacles. Looks like winter was good so far in Pickett and BSF.
