Earthquake in Christchurch, NZ

I know that some of our fellow hikers either visit or have relocated to NZ. A major earthquake just struck there with widespread damage in Christchurch. Here is a video of the aftermath:

It must not be too big.
Al Jazeera is the only news source here in SE Asia carrying the story.
Apparently, a cathedral came crashing down.
I am not sure how it would be considered hiking news though although I too know some AT hikers who go there to hike in winter.
