    Default Tucker Johnson Shelter

I read on a Facebook post today that this shelter has burned down. Don't know any more details but it's being investigated. The shelter is only about half a mile north of the AT-LT split.

That stinks. I remember stopping there for a snack & to check out the journal.

I stayed/tented there a few weeks ago. I saw no evidence of where the shelter was. Nice tenting spot up & to the right of privy. Pretty flat easy hike from AT. Stream was running good. Not mentioned in the companion, there is also tenting allowed on RT 4 across from the Inn ON The Long Trail on their property for free. Just off the road but nice grassy area.

So he has to stay home and watch daytime TV for 9 months. Not sure if that's cruel and unusual punishment or getting off easy...
