Default Theme Parks along the AT?

Anyone ever tried to hit up theme parks along their thru hike?

It seems Dorney and Hershey park should be pretty close to the trail through Pennsylvania.

Theme parks are not very high on a thru hiker's priority list. On my walk north I was interested in the history along the trail. I wasn't into tourist traps, however.

I don't think Dollywood is that far from Gatlinburg. I don't do theme parks but if there was a water park nearby that might be a different story.

There's the Slippery Rock Ride at Mahoosuc Notch, and the Water Flume at Kennebec River Crossing.
The trouble I have with campfires are the folks that carry a bottle in one hand and a Bible in the other.

There are some smaller attractions in Lincoln NH like Clark's Trading Post, Whale's Tail, Polar Caves, Lost River, The Flume, etc. Then in Jefferson there's Santas Villiage and Six Gun City. Most are more geared more for children though than adults.

You would actually lug that big ass backpack around an amusement park? Or are you going to pay two admissions to ride the rides? A seat for you and a seat for your pack?

Haha, no. I'd probably be taking a couple zero days to do it and would dump my stuff in a hotel. Though after 2-3 months of 2mph a day, I'd probably have some sort of panic attack on the rides.

Most theme parks have a bag check or locker rental.

After a month of hiking, just driving in a car feels like a theme park ride for me.
