Excellent! My wife is British so you have trumped her for the "longest distance traveled". We leave 19 Mar, but will be taking our time so I am sure you will catch up. Safe travels...looking forward to meeting on the trail.

I have changed my start date to March 20th. I'm slow so you still might catch me.

yeah... i figure on starting early, and if the weather gets very weird, or there are a series of natural disasters, i'll be heading home i reckon... We just had the biggest solar flare in recorded history... Sun spots at an all time high.. then there's the confirmed 188 day cycle of earthquakes... next quake due in late march... i figure better get the hiking in before the SHTF... it's all circling the drain... and i just want to hike !!!

any additional info that you want the world to know.....

I'm taking on the AT for the first time. Recently moved from California to Alabama and am starting my life over. Not a thing on this planet is going to keep me from doing this, and I hope to learn more about myself through God's grace over the 6 months it will take more than than 31 years I've been alive.

I'm digging deep and I don't know if I've ever wanted something as much as this. I. will. Not. fail.

to quote Red, with a slight substitution...

    "
I find I'm so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it's the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the finish line. I hope to see my Lord and shake his hand. I hope the Appalachian is as wonderous as it has been in my dreams. I hope."
