    Default Polyester vs Silnylon

I was reading up on the new Skyscape tents from Six Moon Designs and I was wondering that is the difference between polyester and silnylon with regard to tent construction.

I suspect that the the main difference is the cost of material and weight, but that they preform about the same. At $90 the Skyscape Scout may be at too good of a price to pass up.

The main difference between the two is the weight. The silnylon tent will be lighter. One thing that people do like about a polyester fly is that is does not stretch. Silnylon requires some periodic tightening throughout the night, especially if it is raining. If it were me I would go silnylon because I am used to handling the occasional sag.
