Homeschooling SOBO Pearisburg to Erwin May - June 2011

My 9 year old son and I (and possibly our dog) are considering a SLOW 300 mile section hike from Pearisburg, VA to Erwin, TN. Tentative start May 6th and estimated finish on June 5th. We would do around 10 miles each day, going from shelter to shelter. We could have a ride from Atlanta to Pearisburg and were curious if there were any other family groups with similar aged kids who were interested in joining forces to hike together, travel together or just help shuttle cars between the two end points.
