    Default REI Venus 75 Pack - Women's - 2009

    http://www.rei.com/product/795049/re...09-special-buy

I'm looking to hike in 2 to 4 week sections and someone offered me a good deal on this pack. I'm a guy, and it's a girls pack, but I'm 5'7" 145lbs so it seemed like it might work. Any thoughts? I really don't know what I'm looking for in one, just that I plan to hammock, and not bring a tent.

Have you tried it on? My advice is to go to a real store and get fitted for a pack. Try them on with weight in them. Then try on this women's pack, and think about whether or not it sits as comfortably with weight in it. If the answer is yes, go for it. Otherwise spend the extra money on a new pack that FITS.

That probably is the simplest and best advice. Thanks.
