Anyone know what to do during a tornado/lightening/severe thunder while out on the trail other than bending over and kissing your rear goodbye? Never seen so many storms in SWVA. Any good sites to view? thanks much

Lightning and thunder: Instead of kissing your rear, get it off the high ground. Seriously, though, don't be the tallest thing around. If there's a shelter, duck into it. If it's really, really close and you feel tingly or your hair starts lifting, hit the ground fast; try to insulate yourself from the ground, perhaps with your sleeping pad.
Tornadoes are a little different. If you can see it coming, get the heck out of it's path. Find a ditch or lower spot for shelter from flying debris.
All that having been said, you're more likely to get hit by a car crossing the road to the next trailhead.
Find the lowest spot you can and be sure you're not under a particularly tall tree. Also drop your hiking poles a fair distance away as you wait it out.
Certain ones do keep cropping up. Believe it or not, there's a new thread on cheese.
