Default Postholes: John Muir Trail Documentary

Not sure if anyone else has seen this yet. It's a very well made documentary about a solo hike on the JMT.

Nice videos of his JMT hike.

I think this video record of his hike is well done (I watched all three parts -- about 45 minutes total). Good job showing the scenery. But what I really liked is that it captured some of the less glamorous aspects of a multi-week hike. His hiking partner quits on the first day. His sleeping bag gets wet. Lots of other stuff gets wet. He loses the trail and has to backtrack. He postholes in the snow. He has to cross ice-cold deep streams. His shoes degrade fast. He has low energy days. He gets lonely.

I think it would do inexperienced prospective backpackers a lot of good to watch this.

(As a heads up -- he does some swearing in the video.)

I enjoyed the video as well. I'd say that is a significant acomplishment for such a young man.
