Default Need help identifying this animal

    Hi everyone,

This was taken by a friend the other day in a lightly-populated wooded mountain area in the Hudson Valley of New York. It was limping and apparently not that concerned with my friend's presence. What is it? My best guess is that it's a sick and/or hairless grey fox but that's a complete guess? The tail is especially strange.

Dog with mange. I think that type of mange is called sarcophogeal mange. It is fatal.

I saw something that looked simlar last summer, in the same area. I thought it was a grey fox with mange, but I could be wrong.
