Shelters SOBO from Bobblet's Gap to Wapiti - water in Sept?

Will be section hiking the AT SOBO in September 2011 from approx. VA 614/Jennings Creek to VA 606 near Wapiti Shelter. Want to know from recent hikers what to expect for water (if ample water OK. We need to focus on the Shelter sites with questionable water). Also need to know if any of the shelters on this stretch are to be avoided. Finally, is there any Bear activity on this section? Thanks.
