Hey everyone, just wanted to share this piece of information with you. This free event is today at 1pm.
-----
On July 22, at 1 p.m., ridgerunners from the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club will speak to visitors at the Appalachian Trail Conservancy’s Visitor Center located in Harpers Ferry, WV, about the role they play in maintaining the Appalachian Trail.
The ridgerunners will explain their role in protecting the A.T. as well as inform visitors on what they can do to help in the preservation of the Trail. They will be sharing such topics as using already impacted campsites, carrying gas stoves as opposed to making fires, and keeping hiking groups to a reasonable number.
In addition, they will also highlight some of the best area hikes as well as provide tips on general safety while on the A.T., including effective food storage in bear country or various campfire policies.
