I assume they had food in the tent.

local news was saying that the two little kids weren't even attacked, but had "previous scratches" from a non-bear incident.

Maybe make this false assumption in knee-jerk fashion.

And how many threads are we gonna have on this?

Some may assume that the kids were assaulted by staff of the Trail Blazers Camp and coerced into the bear attack story. It could possible that either assumption is correct. Or neither.

In today's news it's reported that their "wounds" were old scratches, though the bear did enter the camp and slash at the tent.

By Ray Sanchez | Reuters – Wed, Aug 3, 2011 "Two young campers were attacked by a yearling black bear that entered their tent in New Jersey on Wednesday in the nation's latest bear mauling this summer, state officials said."

Is it possible that "reliable" news sources sometimes get it wrong?
