Looking for Fred Grace hiking North? in PA

Hi All,
I am looking for my Nephew Fred Grace.
He is blond, 6'2" or so, thin, big smile, easy going, and has a great sense of humor.
He left route 61 heading North we think.
His departure day was Sunday, August 7th.
We have not heard from him.
He may be under-prepared, not have enough gear, clothes, food, $, etc.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if anyone has word of his whereabouts, lets me know.

Age? Do you have any idea what his trail name might be? You can ask people to check the trail registers in the area to see if he's signed any of them, but usually people sign the registers using their trail name. Hope everything is well, and that he's just been hiking and tired.

Hey Trailweaver,
He is mid-twenties. I don't know if he has a trail name, or would even sign the registries for that matter.
His Mom just called me to say he'd left.
All I KNOW is he has is a day pack, $20, street map, water bottle, sleeping bag, some food, and a hiking staff. Beyond that, he has some camping experience and is a strong hiker.
This is not an emergency situation AFAIK, but we have no way to contact him and his time frame or destination are unclear, so we are concerned.

***WE FOUND HIM***

He picked up a bad case of poison ivy and had to come off trail.
He is now safely with his Mom, who, I believe is taking him to the nearest hospital.

So glad to hear that he's safe and all is well. Sorry to hear that he has poison ivy. . . easy to get, hard to get rid of, and miserable to have. Bet he will recognize it the next time out though!

Hard to believe I'm about to suggest it, but maybe what he needs more than anything else is a cell phone.

A telephone call to ATC by concerned family members would have accomplished their desired objective without creating a permanent record complete with photographs of the individual involved in cyberspace.
