    Default burningtown gap NC

    I am looking to start at burningtown gap has anyone been down the road in the past month or two? How is the road condition? will 2wd make it? is it safe to park there?

    I've seen hunters parked there in 4 wheel drive trucks. Don't know about 2wd. If you start at Wayah Bald or Tellico Gap, 2wd will make it easily. Good luck.

    You will make it easily. From NOC road is paved 85% of way, final few miles is Co road / gravel. Very passable in 2wd car. Have fun.

    Burningtown is easy in 2wd only one way in I'm not sure I would park there. Check with Jeff and Nancy at the Hike inn for a shuttle well worth the $. They took me up ther last winter no problem.

    I was there the week of original post 8/20. Road is good but the grass is really high in the parking area but you can still slide a car in there.
