    Default Parking at the Tunnel

Planning a hike from Twenty Mile Ranger Station to the Tunnel sometime in mid October. My question is the parking at the tunnel #1 Is it safe to leave a car here for four nights? #2 Do I need some type of parking permit to leave my car? I know that I will need to secure a permit for the hike at the Twenty Mile RS. We plan on dropping a car first at the Tunnel then proceeding to TMRS.

Bearpaw and I did that same hike over 3 days back in November 2010, great hike. We parked our cars at the tunnel for 2 nights with no problem whatsover. Just take the usual trailhead precautions. As I recall, no permits for parking were necessary. Enjoy your hike!

He is right. Your car will be fine and you don't need a permit to park.

Hey Rock, could you please repeat that loud enough for my ex-wives to hear?
