How do you wash the Tyvek to make it softer, warm, hot, cold, soap, no soap?

I was told that you could put it in a standard cold load w/normal soap but I haven't tried it yet. People say you can wash it MANY times as well. Six moon designs sells their footprints in Tyvek.

#1: Why can't you put it in the dryer?
#2: What could possible weigh less than Tyvek?

They make many different types of Tyvek. The stuff used to make clothing and envelopes makes much nicer (and somewhat lighter) hiking gear. There are a few people who sell it on eBay.

once,I took a break and was sitting on my tyvek with the white side up and eventually noticed a tick crawing across, trying to get at me. I realized that it works good for spotting ticks..

ps. the tick died a flamming death... lol

Well, you could if you want it to shrink....

BTW cold water wash - no soap - watch for water bombs when removing from washer...

Is tyvek waterproof? Could those tyvek coveralls sold for painters be used as raingear?

No, Tyvek is NOT waterproof. It is highly water resistant.

    Default Tyvek Scraps

Like most things DuPont does they don't adapt and they don't change pricing. There are competitors. Typar makes products that are tougher and generally perform better than Tyvek but there are others and they are always cheaper.
