When you are getting low on supplies, go into town.

That's all the plan you need.

It's the same as going NOBO, only in reverse.

Here's some stuff to think on:
Get the Companion or AWOL's southbounder guide. Reserve two nights in a lean-to at Katahdin Stream. Plan your food for Katahdin and about 5 days south after spending the night in Millinocket with the AT Lodge folks. They'll shuttle you to the Park after you eat your full at the AT Cafe in the morning. Contact folks in Monson, (Dawn at Shaw's, Rebekah at Lake Shore House) for a food drop in the 100. Eat your fill at Abol Bridge (the new owners are great, and they have more fresh cooked stuff than Linda did) and carry some heavy goodies into the 100 for your first few meals. Take the side trip to Whitehouse Landing, spend the night. When you get to Monson spend at least one night, and you should have a maildrop waiting. Between Shaw's, Robinson's, Lake Shore, Spring Creek, and Tim's General you'll have enough to eat and pack out. After that, you'll be able to figure the rest out.

You could always just carry your stuff from Baxter State Park to Monson, and wing it from there. Worked for many.

you should probably get the latest version of a guidebook and plan from there (I recommend doing it as you go). Things will change even as you're hiking-- some stores will shut down, have different hours, etc so it's best to be flexible. plus at certain points you might feel like carrying more/less food so you can make/avoid a stop in town.

I provide a mid-wilderness resupply option in the 100 Mile Wilderness at the Jo-Mary road. This is 56 miles from Katahdin and allows you to carry 4-5 days worth of food at a time, pick up your resupply box (I'll pack out your trash and you can enjoy some Trail Magic!) and then be on your way to Monson with the remainder of your needs. Learn more at www.100milewilderness.info I also do shuttles and have private cabin rentals in Monson. I am located just 2 minutes off the Trail near Lake Hebron
